No matter how big that child is, there is every possibility that he or she might not understand.
Here are the top three things that you should consider not discussing with a child if you must keep your cool:
1. POLITICS
Do not think that everybody knows what it is all about. One thing that I have noticed about Nigerians is that most of us like to argue. When a hot topic is brought up, instead of us to analyze it and know what it is all about, some people would just take side with one ethnic group, language or nationality or the other and start arguing blindly while leaving the truth behind.
At times, you neither need to force people to believe that what you are saying is true nor form opinions for them. Just say things as they are and let them be.
2. RELIGION
For your own good, do not discuss it with a child if not he or she is going to argue as though it is a battlefield. Religion is a complex field as we know it but those who understand, believe more than argue.
3. FAMILY PROBLEMS
Hmmm. I cannot skip this one because almost everybody have them but discussing your family problems with a kid exposes you to more dangers because some people do not know how to keep their mouths. In a world as ours where some of the rich people are battling with divorce, the poor are battling with finance and the common man is looking for the way out, it is good to be diligent.
Now, nobody forbids you from sharing your thoughts with others, but when it gets to a point of excessive arguments, withdraw yourself from such scenes because it can lead to a fight which may start and not end at once.
Age is just a number ( even though it counts and it is important), body size is not much of a factor and facial expression is not much of a relief. Look well before you share your problems with people.
